Interwoven Hands and Threads

Trama Afetiva was not created simply to make clothes. It was created to question the logic of fashion and propose new relationships between materials, people, work and consumption.
Conceived by Jackson Araujo and Luca Predabon, Trama Afetiva is a platform dedicated to social and regenerative design. Its work connects fashion, education and sustainability through initiatives that create work opportunities, generate income and recognize regional knowledge and skills.
Transforming Materials and Relationships
Trama Afetiva creates clothing and accessories by upcycling reclaimed umbrella fabric (nylon or polyester), urban textile waste and vintage T-shirts.
Â
Umbrellas are recovered by waste collection cooperatives before they reach landfills. Their fabrics are removed from the frames, washed and sanitized before arriving at the Trama Afetiva studio. There, they are selected, combined and cut according to the designs and patterns created by fashion director Thais Losso. The cut pieces are then sewn by a group of women partners who supplement their families’ income through Trama Afetiva’s creative reuse of materials and upcycling.
This process brings together waste collectors, cooperatives, drivers, the people who clean and sanitize the materials, seamstresses, artisans, designers and other collaborators. Each person plays an essential role in making the pieces possible.
One-of-a-Kind Pieces
The colors, prints, textures and dimensions of the materials vary. Each piece is a unique combination of materials, so there is no mass production.
Loja da Trama Afetiva is the platform’s commercial arm, offering clothing and accessories. It also accepts requests to customize pre-owned garments and develops upcycled corporate gifts, including pieces made with materials supplied by the companies themselves.
Knowledge and Affective Economy
Trama Afetiva’s work goes beyond creating products. The platform organizes workshops, courses, exhibitions, talks, discussion circles and educational projects that bring together professionals, students, artists, artisans, businesses and communities.
Affective Economy is based on the idea that people and the planet are non-negotiable assets. This vision guides a diverse, inclusive, collaborative and environmentally responsible approach to fashion that recognizes the work and knowledge of everyone involved.
Wearing a Trama Afetiva piece means choosing a one-of-a-kind creation and becoming part of a network built on circularity, collaboration and care.
